The present invention relates generally to a hydrogel releasing glucose in a time-controlled manner, to medical applications thereof, and to a method for preparing said hydrogel. In particular, the hydrogel of the invention contains in its liquid phase a polymer of glucose, as well as an enzyme capable of gradually hydrolysing said polymer into glucose.
